Helen Ennis is writing a biography on the photographer Charles Bayliss who famously spent time in Hill End between 1872 and 1875. Because of the lack of primary documents relating to his life and work she will use her residency to explore alternative approaches to writing his biography by responding to place, weather and chance encounters.
