James T. Farley (Wagga Wagga) and Jacob Raupach (Melbourne) will be continuing a collaboration called Image Ecologies. This project responds to regional and remote communities with overlapping histories of industrial, extractive and exploitative production and ecological significance, which have also endured periods of sociocultural collapse and/or renewal. Drawing on their experience as photographers, James and Jacob work to unpack new understandings of the material, economic and ecological entanglements of these places, which are a microcosm for the study of the broader impacts that can be expected on a global scale as Western Culture moves further into the unknown era of the Anthropocene.
