Chris Cochius is an artist and weaver at The Australian Tapestry Workshop, specialising in the collaboration and interpretation of artists’ work into the medium of tapestry. Inspired by the techniques and practices used by artists that she has worked with such as John Wolseley, Janet Laurence and Luke Sciberras, Cochius is fascinated by the different ways they interpret landscape.
Cochius intends to examine and develop a personal language of landscape specific to Hill End, using a range of media including tapestry, paint, photography and writing. She will produce a series of small tapestry works that interpret and explore the colours, patterns and atmosphere of the landscape around Hill End.
