Whilst in residence at Hill End actor and writer Josef Ber will be writing a treatment for a screenplay called ‘Uncle Frank’.
The main character in the story is Frank who has been living a very reclusive life after a family tragedy 40 years ago left him unable to function. Having isolated himself from all friends and family, his lonely life has spiralled downward. He’s a deeply scarred man so full of love. He just needs to allow himself to receive love and to be brave enough to give love to others.
Spending time in Hill End will allow Ber to be informed and influenced by the historically rich and scarred landscape of Hill End, developing the character of Frank and telling the story of a solitary man on the journey of getting past his regret and moving on to forgiveness, healing and reconnecting with his loved ones.
