Murrays Cottage

In Hill End, Karen Balderson aims to create work reflecting the journeys her ancestors made from Bathurst and Mudgee to Hill End in the 1860s and 1870s and to respond to the mental illness her great-great grandmother developed while she tried to cope with bringing up a family in the harsh conditions of the goldfields. These works will form part of an ongoing series looking at family, history and place.
