Kathryn Orton’s work seeks to respond to gaps in our collective memories left by the disappearance of so many examples of distinctive Australian vernacular architecture. The fixed time quality of Hill End, with its fascinating examples of early domestic architecture, continues to inspire Orton’s creative output. Orton returns to Hill End to complete a major installation piece representing an aerial view of the village that she began work on 2012.
