Renuka Fernando will return to the Hill End residency program in March 2015 to continue an ongoing body of work entitled Disturbing the Surface. Her large-scale drawing installations consider the dual themes of memory and place focusing on the nature of space as experienced through recollection and the contributions of imagination. In addition to these concerns, the drawing process itself will also inform this body of work. Is there a line between what is recalled from memory and what is led by the physical act of drawing?
